Emma suffered severe injuries to her neck, chest, stomach, and arms and had to be hospitalized for over a month. It is heart-wrenching that this happened to her simply because she opened the front door to her home.
The incident occurred on June 23, 2022, when Bailey called in sick to her workplace, as reported by the York Press. She drove nearly 140 miles from her home in Dudley, West Midlands, to Harrogate, North Yorkshire, where the victim lived. On her way, Bailey stopped at a grocery store to buy the flowers that would conceal the large carving knife. Disguised in a red wig, face mask, and sunglasses, Bailey rang Emma’s doorbell and presented her with the bouquet, saying, “These are for you.” It was at this moment that Emma noticed the handle of a knife, and the horrifying attack began. Fortunately, Emma’s 14-year-old daughter was present and rushed to her mother’s aid. Emma believes she owes her life to her daughter’s presence that day.
Following the attack, Bailey fled and returned home, where she was arrested on June 25. The police discovered that Bailey had meticulously planned the attack and had no regard for anyone who stood in her way. It was revealed that Bailey had been in a relationship with Emma’s husband, which had ended several months prior to the incident. However, Bailey struggled to accept the end of the affair, leading to this extreme act of violence. Emma emphasized that this kind of reaction is not normal when a relationship ends. She underwent extensive surgery and continues to experience daily pain, relying on crutches or a wheelchair to move around. Her entire life has been turned upside down.
