Experience the Trendiest Dining Spot in Bushwick – Ascend to a Warehouse for Unforgettable Cuisine

To access this influencer-friendly rooftop eatery, located atop 154 Scott Ave. in Brooklyn’s trendy Bushwick neighborhood, foodies must embark on an adventure. They start by braving a Brooklyn parking ramp and service lift. The pop-up Levantine restaurant, known as Habibi, has taken social media by storm with its unique combination of an industrial-chic entry experience and fine dining.

Situated at Bushwick’s bleeding edge, where wholesale food packaging businesses coexist with artisan chocolatiers and small-batch mead makers, Habibi offers a reservation-only venue with a twist. Guests are led through a car-sized roll-down gate and navigate their way through a warehouse. The journey continues as tuxedo-clad operators guide them into a freight elevator, taking them up to a Manhattan-worthy event space equipped with a terrace that overlooks the iconic New York City skyline.

In a viral TikTok tour of Habibi by creator Brendan Fallis, the rooftop eatery has gained over 1.4 million views. Fallis describes the experience, saying, “They pour you a glass of champagne while the elevator takes you up to this rustic stairwell, only to be greeted by a beautiful rooftop with incredible landscaping overlooking no other than New York City. After dinner, they tell you to join them down the way into, that’s right, this incredible hookah lounge.”

The concept for Habibi originated in the Caribbean, at the Palm Heights hotel on Grand Cayman island. The mezze-heavy menu, now available in both English and Arabic, was first launched there. The menu features family-style offerings, including grilled kebabs and seafood, which were created through a collaboration between Palm Heights Executive Chef Jake Tyler Brodsky and Creative Director Gabriella Khalil, who drew inspiration from their own family recipes.

Evenings at the Scott Avenue address offer a unique blend of traditional cuisine and contemporary culture, featuring activities such as coffee readings and performances by drag belly dancers. The venue, which boasts both indoor and outdoor seating, has become a hit on social media, with diners indulging in a Levantine feast while surrounded by captivating ambience.

The success of the concept at the Palm Heights hotel led to the establishment of the Brooklyn pop-up party event in 2021, which has now been renewed until the end of December. Although the space briefly closed this month for a different Palm Heights Grand Cayman-related pop-up event, it is set to reopen on Wednesday to welcome eager patrons once again.
