Experience the smooth-shifting Prodigy V2 commuter ebike from Ride1Up

Ride1Up, a San Diego-based company, recently unveiled the second generation of its Prodigy e-bike. This new version features the Enviolo stepless transmission and a Gates Carbon belt drive, enhancing its performance and efficiency.

The Prodigy V2 continues to utilize the powerful Brose TF Sprinter mid-driver motor for its pedal-assist system. With a torque of 90 Nm and a top speed of 28 mph, this e-bike offers a thrilling riding experience. However, the major upgrade comes in the form of the Gates CDX Carbon Belt Drive and the Enviolo Trekking Continuous Variable Transmission drivetrain, which ensures seamless gear shifting and low maintenance.

Powering the motor is a 504-Wh battery comprised of Samsung cells, providing a range of up to 50 miles per charge. The ride data can be conveniently viewed on the 1.5-inch Brose color display mounted on the handlebar.

The Prodigy V2 features an alloy frame available in both step-over and step-through variants. It is equipped with an air suspension fork that provides 100 mm of travel. The e-bike rides on 27.5-inch wheels wrapped in 2.25-inch-wide Maxxis Rekon Race tires with tan sidewalls. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 180-mm rotors ensure reliable stopping power.

Additional features include an integrated 80-lux headlight and a tail-light, a rear rack capable of carrying 40 lb of cargo with the Connect+ system, alloy fenders, and a single-side kickstand. All these features would typically be expected on a bike retailing for over $5,000, but Ride1Up is offering them for approximately half that price with the new Prodigy V2!

The Prodigy V2 with CVT is now available for $2,695. Alternatively, there is a version with a traditional chain drive, 9-speed MicroShift derailleur, and trigger shifter priced at $2,395.
