Exclusive Balmain Collection Targeted by Thieves Prior to Paris Fashion Show: A Shocking Twist!

Over 50 pieces stolen ahead of Balmain’s Paris Fashion Week Show

Thieves have stolen more than 50 items from Balmain’s new collection just 10 days before the brand’s Paris Fashion Week show, according to Olivier Rousteing, the company’s creative director, who shared the news on his Instagram account.

“Our driver called us to say that he had been attacked by a group of people. More than 50 items were stolen,” said the 38-year-old designer in a post late Saturday.

The driver, who was “safe and sound,” was transporting the merchandise in a truck from the airport to the Balmain headquarters when the theft occurred. Rousteing mentioned that he was at the Balmain site on Saturday morning when the driver called.

“My team and I have worked extremely hard. We will continue to work even harder, day and night, alongside our suppliers. However, this incident is incredibly disrespectful. I wanted to share this with you as a reminder to never take anything for granted,” said Rousteing, who has been Balmain’s creative director since 2011.

Rousteing has revolutionized the industry by incorporating hip-hop elements and embracing diversity, making luxury fashion more accessible and relatable to young people.

He is renowned for pushing the brand into new territories, collaborating with celebrities like Kim Kardashian and making frequent appearances on red carpets, including the Cannes Film Festival.

The Balmain show, which was acquired by Qatari investment fund Mayhoola in 2016, is scheduled for the women’s ready-to-wear fashion week in Paris on September 27.
