A 22-year-old man from Moreno Valley was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats following a confrontation at a gas station in Moreno Valley.
On Tuesday at 3 p.m., deputies from the sheriff’s Moreno Valley station responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 23900 block of Sunnymead Boulevard, according to Sgt. Joseph Fitzgerald of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as Nathan Ramirez, had engaged in an unspecified dispute with Dominic Ward, a 35-year-old man from Moreno Valley. Ramirez allegedly made death threats towards Ward and aimed a handgun at him. Before deputies arrived at the scene, the suspect fled in a vehicle.
On Saturday morning, Moreno Valley deputies located the suspect’s vehicle near Sunnymead Boulevard and Heacock Street, leading to the arrest of Ramirez and his passenger, Jem Urich from Lancaster. Urich was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Los Angeles County for domestic battery.
A search warrant executed on Ramirez’s vehicle and residence resulted in the discovery of a loaded firearm and additional evidence inside his home, according to the authorities.
Ramirez was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside with a bail amount set at $25,000.
