Toyota Innova Crysta, Glanza, and HyRyder Drive Strong Demand with Impressive Sales Growth
Toyota’s lineup in India comprises a compelling range of SUVs and MPVs: Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Hycross, Vellfire, Fortuner, Hilux pick-up truck, Glanza hatchback, and Camry sedan. The company recently introduced the Rumion MPV, a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga-based model, which has garnered significant attention and bookings since its launch.
Toyota Sales Soar by 40% YoY in August 2023
In August 2023, Toyota sold 20,969 units, achieving a remarkable 40% YoY growth compared to the 14,959 units sold in August 2022. Notably, the Innova Crysta emerged as the top-selling model despite a 17.71% YoY decline, with 4,967 units sold in August 2023. The Innova Crysta continues to hold a substantial 23.81% share in Toyota’s portfolio.
The Glanza secured the second spot with impressive YoY growth of 63.80%, selling 4,932 units in August 2023 compared to 3,011 units in August 2022. This translates to a volume growth of 1,921 units, allowing the Glanza to hold a 23.65% share in the premium hatchback segment.
Following closely behind is the popular HyRyder compact SUV with 4,121 units sold last month. Despite facing tough competition from rivals such as the Creta, Grand Vitara, and Seltos, the HyRyder managed to secure the fourth position in the compact SUV segment. Furthermore, the Fortuner witnessed a 9.45% YoY sales growth, selling 2,825 units in August 2023 as compared to 2,581 units in August 2022.
