Breaking News: Giants’ Star Saquon Barkley Reveals Battle with High Ankle Sprain

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley revealed to Prime Video’s Taylor Rooks that he is currently dealing with a high ankle sprain. Unfortunately, this means Barkley will not be able to play in the upcoming “Thursday Night Football” game against the San Francisco 49ers. Initially, it was thought that Barkley had a normal ankle sprain, but Rooks reported before the game that it is actually a high ankle sprain, which typically requires more time to heal.

Rooks also mentioned that Barkley’s sprain is not as severe as it could have been. However, Barkley explained that he is sitting out due to a pain tolerance issue, as he sustained the injury four days ago during the Giants’ game-winning drive against the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth quarter.

“The good news is that our next game is on a Monday night, giving me 11 additional days to recover,” Barkley expressed. “While I can’t make any guarantees, I am happy to have more time to be the Saquon the team needs me to be.”

Barkley appears confident that he won’t be out for as long as usual for this type of injury. However, Giants fans may be worried, considering they witnessed him play through this same injury two seasons ago.

GIANTS’ SAQUON BARKLEY EXPECTED TO BE OUT SEVERAL WEEKS AFTER SUFFERING ANKLE INJURY: REPORT

Barkley previously suffered a high ankle sprain on his right ankle during a game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 of the 2021 season. Unfortunately, this is the same ankle he injured in Arizona this week. He missed four games and utilized the team’s bye week to rehabilitate the ankle before returning in Week 11 to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
