Exciting News from Hyundai India: All Models Now Come with Standard 6 Airbags! Find Out More

Hyundai Makes 6 Airbags Standard on All Cars: Hyundai India announced on Tuesday, October 3rd, that moving forward, all of its cars will come equipped with six airbags as a standard safety feature. This makes Hyundai the first mass-market car manufacturer to adopt this comprehensive safety standard across its entire lineup of cars. The Hyundai Verna recently received a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP.

In the past, Hyundai offered six airbags as standard in most of its vehicle range. However, the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and Venue models were exceptions and only had four airbags as standard, with an option to upgrade to six airbags on select higher-spec variants. With this new announcement, Hyundai ensures that all models, across all variants, will come equipped with six airbags as part of their standard safety package.

As of now, the Grand i10 Nios and Aura models come with 4 airbags, while the i20 and i20 N Line have 6 airbags each as standard. The Exter was launched with 6 airbags as standard, the Venue has only 2 airbags, and the Venue N Line has 4 airbags as standard. The other top-of-the-line models that already come with 6 airbags as standard include Verna, Alcazar, Creta, Tucson, Ioniq 5, and the Kona electric EV model.

Earlier this year, Hyundai made three-point seatbelts with seatbelt reminders a standard feature for all seats across all models and variants. It’s worth noting that out of the 13 different models offered by Hyundai in the Indian market, 10 already include Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill-Start Assist Control as standard safety features. The Exter, Grand i10 Nios, and Aura models are exceptions and do not feature ESC and Hill-Start Assist Control across all variants.

Hyundai has also sent three of its models to Bharat NCAP for crash testing, although the specific models have not been disclosed. The results of these tests are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
