Emerging Threat: Hezbollah Urges U.S. Intervention for Deterring Israel’s Gaza Strike and Preserving Regional Stability

Nasrallah’s First Speech Since Hamas-Israel War; Warns of Regional Conflict and Blames U.S.

In an impactful return to the stage, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, delivered a speech addressing the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Nasrallah emphasized that preventing a regional war rests on halting the Israeli attack on Gaza and warned of the potential for a full-fledged war on the Lebanese front. He further hinted at a confrontation with U.S. warships in the Mediterranean, highlighting Hezbollah’s readiness to challenge Israel’s main ally, the United States.

Nasrallah declared that the responsibility for the Gaza attack lies with the United States, calling on them to stop the aggression in order to avoid a wider conflict. He underscored the connection between the developments in Gaza and the Israeli actions towards Lebanon, stating that the escalation on the Lebanese front would be contingent upon these events.

In an attempt to amplify the importance and seriousness of his message, Nasrallah conveyed that U.S. warships pose no threat to Hezbollah. He asserted that the group has adequately prepared to counter such forces, referencing their arsenal of anti-ship missiles. Nasrallah also reminded the Americans of previous attacks on U.S. interests in Lebanon in the 1980s, which resulted in considerable losses for the United States. By doing so, he aimed to emphasize that those who challenged the United States in the past are still capable of doing so.

Regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, Nasrallah praised the attack launched by Hamas, describing it as a “new historic phase.” He emphasized that the decision to carry out the attack was solely Palestinian and took allied parties by surprise.

Nasrallah concluded by asserting that a full-scale war on the Lebanese front is a genuine possibility. He urged Israel to take this into account and not underestimate the consequences. Israel has already clarified that it has no interest in a conflict on its northern border, but Nasrallah’s warnings served as a reminder for them to remain cautious.

This speech marks Nasrallah’s return to the public eye since the onset of the Israel-Hamas war. His words carry weight, reflecting Hezbollah’s entrenched position as a significant player aligned with Iran and hostile towards Israel and the United States. As the conflict unfolds, Nasrallah’s rhetoric and the actions of Hezbollah will undoubtedly continue to shape the regional dynamics.
