June 26 (UPI) — Elton John expresses his gratitude to fans following his farewell show at Glastonbury.
The 76-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday to thank fans after what could potentially be his last concert in the U.K. at the Glastonbury Festival.
“Thank you, Glastonbury! The energy last night was beyond compare, and I am incredibly grateful to the crowd and everyone who watched from home for their love and support. You will always have a special place in my heart and soul,” John wrote on Instagram.
“UK, what an incredible farewell. I love you,” he added.
John began his performance on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm with “Pinball Wizard” and went on to perform hits like “Cold Heart,” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” “Tiny Dancer,” “I’m Still Standing,” and concluded the show with “Rocket Man.”
The singer also had special guests Jacob Lusk, Stephen Sanchez, Rina Sawayama, and Brandon Flowers join him on stage.
Over 7 million viewers tuned in to the BBC to watch John’s three-hour performance at Glastonbury Festival.
John is coming to the end of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which originally started in 2018. The singer’s next shows will take place in Paris on Tuesday and Wednesday.
