Elon Musk announces live stream of his confrontation with Mark Zuckerberg, with a fierce response from Zuck

Two of the world’s most renowned and divisive tech billionaires have once again declared their intention to face off in a highly anticipated showdown. Elon Musk, the owner of the platform formerly known as Twitter but now rebranded as X, and Mark Zuckerberg, the head of Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, took to their respective social media platforms to provide updates regarding the much-discussed potential fight.

“The fight between Zuck and Musk will be live-streamed on 𝕏. All proceeds will be donated to charities benefiting veterans,” Musk announced on X on Sunday.

Zuckerberg responded with some subtle criticism on Threads, Meta’s new competitor to Twitter/X: “Shouldn’t we use a more reliable platform that can effectively raise funds for charity?”

It remains uncertain how serious they are about the proposed fight or if it will ever come to fruition, but these two tech moguls have been discussing it for weeks.

While Musk mentioned on Sunday that he has been strength training to prepare for the fight, Zuckerberg wrote on Threads that he’s ready for today. “When he initially challenged me, I suggested Aug 26, but he hasn’t confirmed. Not holding my breath,” he wrote.

Musk stated that the date is still uncertain. “I’m scheduled for an MRI of my neck and upper back tomorrow,” he wrote. “There might be a need for surgery before the fight can take place. I’ll know this week.”

In response to the latest details about the alleged fight, an X user provided some stats about each participant. They mentioned that 39-year-old Zuckerberg is shorter and lighter than Musk but has a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu. On the other hand, the 51-year-old Musk stands at 6’2″ and reportedly weighs 187 lbs. Musk replied, “I weigh at least 300 lbs.”

Zuckerberg practices mixed martial arts (MMA) and stated that he will continue to compete “with people who train, regardless of what happens here.” In MMA, fighters employ various martial arts techniques and engage in both striking and grappling.

Musk mentioned that he would adopt a WWE-inspired fighting style, referring to World Wrestling Entertainment, a professional wrestling company. WWE fights involve storylines between wrestling personalities.

Prior to the launch of Meta’s Threads, Musk replied to a tweet questioning his rival’s plan to create a similar app to Twitter, stating that he was “up for a cage match” with Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg responded on Instagram, “Send me the location.”

Since then, the two have been exchanging comments on social media, although it is still uncertain if they will truly face off in person.
