A recent clinical study conducted by the UERM Memorial Medical Center Research team has revealed that Difflam®, a locally-available antiseptic throat lozenge containing generic Benzydamine HCl + Cetylpyridinium Cl, is highly effective in reducing sore throat caused by COVID-19. The study, which focused on COVID-19 patients, demonstrated significant relief from throat pain when using Difflam®.
Led by Dr. Jennifer M. Nailes, MD, MSPH, Vice-President for Research at UERMMMC, the in vivo study aimed to assess the real-world effectiveness of Difflam® antiseptic lozenges in treating COVID-19 patients with sore throat. Filipino patients who were confirmed to have COVID-19 and experienced sore throat participated in the study. The results showed that the use of Difflam® significantly accelerated their recovery and provided substantial relief from discomfort. This further reinforces Difflam®’s reputation as the most prescribed sore throat brand by doctors, according to IQVIA PMDI Data for the year 2022.
