easyJet informs couple they must travel from Bristol to Scotland via Alicante

A couple of holiday-goers were left perplexed when easyJet informed them that they would have to take a roundabout route to get home to Scotland. Carly Wilkinson, 22, and her partner, Reece Pollock, 23, had just enjoyed a relaxing week in Majorca when they were faced with the confusing journey home. Instead of a direct flight, easyJet offered them a route that involved flying from Palma, Majorca to Bristol, then back to Alicante in Spain before finally flying back to Glasgow. The couple was unaware of this 27-hour travel nightmare until they received a cancellation text while waiting for their flight in Palma airport. The airline staff presented them with two options: spend an additional £600 to fly with another airline or wait 11 hours for a route via Bristol. Eventually, the couple agreed to a six-hour taxi journey back home, which was paid for by easyJet. The couple expressed their disappointment and frustration with the whole experience, stating that their amazing holiday was ruined by the disaster of getting home. They had paid £1,500 for their package holiday and had contacted easyJet about the chaotic situation. EasyJet has since apologized to the couple, reimbursed them for their expenses, and stated that they did their best to minimize the disruption caused by air traffic control restrictions.
