A total of eleven different players showcased their skills as they caught passes from both White and quarterback Skylar Thompson in the game’s second half.
Impressively, Channing Tindall led the team in tackles with a commendable nine (4 solo and 1.0 sack). The remarkable performance of fellow linebackers Garrett Nelson and Mitchell Agude, who are undrafted rookies, cannot be overlooked as they each recorded one sack.
Cornerback Cam Smith, selected by the Dolphins in the second round (51st overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft, displayed his exceptional skills. The former South Carolina Gamecock made a remarkable diving pass-breakup that resulted in a Falcons punt during the opening possession of the second half.
Smith continued to shine in the third quarter when he tripped up Falcons running back Carlos Washington Jr., causing a three-yard loss and forcing fourth down. The Dolphins eventually stopped Atlanta’s drive thanks to an end zone pass deflection by safety Keidron Smith, another rookie from the SEC who joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent from Kentucky.
White completed 9 out of 14 passes for 85 yards, while Thompson completed 10 out of 16 passes for 104 yards, displaying their proficiency in moving the ball through the air.
Miami’s next game is on August 19, where they will travel to face the Houston Texans. Kickoff at NRG Stadium will be at 4:00 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcasted on NFL Network and locally on CBS Miami.
