Bea Alonzo addresses the “cake-holding” controversy that went viral on social media. During an episode of “All-Out Sunday” last September 3, Alonzo was seen holding the birthday cake for Kyline Alcantara, a fellow Kapuso artist. Some fans expressed their displeasure, accusing GMA of mistreating Alonzo. However, Alonzo clarified that she was simply helping Alcantara, who was struggling to hold both the cake and the microphone. She wanted Alcantara to be able to thank her sponsors. Alcantara has yet to comment on the issue. Alonzo recently transferred to GMA in July 2021, after being with ABS-CBN for about 20 years. She has appeared in various shows since joining GMA, including “Start-Up PH,” “Magpakailanman,” and “Pepito Manaloto.” Alonzo is set to star in the upcoming series “Love Before Sunrise,” where she will reunite with Dennis Trillo.
