Discover Top Vehicles Crafted with Union Labor – Unmistakable Quality and Pride!

With the United Auto Workers’ “stand up strike” now into its third week and the work stoppage having since expanded to Ford’s Chicago Assembly Plant and GM’s Lansing-Delta Assembly Plant, the total number of striking UAW auto workers is now up to around 25,000, and could rise if the action expands further.

The United States has a rich union history, although worker participation has declined from approximately 20% in 1983 to about half that rate in 2022, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, the UAW’s ongoing strike and the recently settled Writers Guild of America strike have brought the importance of worker representation back into the national spotlight.

While many formerly “import” brands like Honda, BMW, and Kia now manufacture vehicles in North America, they do not employ UAW or Unifor labor (the Canadian Auto Workers’ union).

The UAW provides a list of models assembled by their unions in both the United States and Canada. These models, which they identify as union-made, include significant UAW content. The complete list is provided below.

It’s important to note that all the union-made vehicles listed belong to the “Big Three” domestic brands—Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis—since the import transplants have not embraced the UAW. However, it should be mentioned that the Chevrolet Silverado Light-Duty Crew Cab model is built in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, but not with UAW or affiliated labor in Mexico.

A quick way to determine where a particular make, model, and unit is built is to check the first digit of its vehicle identification number (VIN). The first digit indicates the country of assembly, with 1, 4, or 5 indicating the United States, 2 indicating Canada, 3 indicating Mexico, and letters J-R representing Asia and S-Z representing European origin.

Furthermore, the Monroney pricing sticker, required by federal law on most new vehicles sold in the United States, provides details on the percentage of domestic and imported parts and labor used in their construction.

Here is the official list from the UAW of current vehicles that they claim are built by their members, as well as those built by their Canadian equivalent, Unifor.
