On September 16, a devastating fire engulfed six houses in Mataas Na Kahoy town, Batangas province, leaving behind a trail of destruction.
According to the Batangas police report, the fire originated from one of the rooms in a light-material house owned by Shiela Rabano, 43, in Barangay 4. The fire rapidly spread, consuming five other houses in its path.

Local firefighters managed to extinguish the flames after a two-hour battle.
The affected families were temporarily relocated to an evacuation center while authorities assess the extent of property damage.

No injuries were reported, and investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
