Despite Approving Sanctuary Status, LA May Pursue Legal Action as Texas Dispatches 12th Migrant Bus to the City

Texas has sent yet another bus filled with migrants to Los Angeles, California, despite the city’s opposition. The bus arrived at Union Station on Monday morning, carrying a total of 42 migrants from various countries.

This latest delivery marks the 12th bus sent from Texas to Los Angeles, with a total of 435 migrants being transported since June 14. The program initiated by Texas Governor Greg Abbott has sent over 30,000 migrants to Democrat-led cities across the United States, including New York City, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

In response to the arrival of the bus, Los Angeles City Council members voted unanimously to pursue legal action and a criminal probe against Texas. They are investigating whether Governor Abbott has committed any crimes through the migrant busing program and if the lawsuit is justified.

Abbott’s office defended the program, pointing out that Los Angeles is a sanctuary city and claiming that migrants on the buses sign a consent waiver stating their destination. They accuse the LA City Council members of hypocrisy for welcoming migrants to the city in June and now opposing the program.

However, LA Mayor Karen Bass accuses Abbott of busing migrants from Texas to California during Tropical Storm Hilary, further escalating the tension between the two sides.

Despite the backlash, Abbott continues to send buses of migrants to Los Angeles, citing the overwhelmed state of Texas’s border region. He believes that President Biden should take immediate action to secure the border, which he claims the President has failed to do.

It is clear that this issue has become a contentious battle between Texas and Los Angeles, with both sides firmly rooted in their positions. The debate surrounding immigration and sanctuary cities continues to be a hot topic in the United States.
