However, the judge stated that federal courts do not have the authority to reinstate Warren. The lawsuit focused on Florida law, which hindered the judge’s ability to take action. However, he noted that the Eleventh Amendment prevents federal courts from providing relief based on a violation of state law. DeSantis’ office did not respond to requests for comment.
