Delaware Businessman Convicted and Sentenced by Federal Authorities for Non-Biden Affiliation

Chris Tigani, the former Delaware beer baron, recently criticized the lenient treatment given to Hunter Biden by the same US attorney who had put him in jail. Tigani, who served a two-year sentence for corrupt campaign donations to Joe Biden, expressed dissatisfaction with the justice system’s apparent lack of fairness. Tigani believes that if his last name were Biden, the investigations into his actions would have been prolonged and ended in his favor. He discussed his encounter with the Biden family in 2007, during which Hunter and Beau Biden asked him for $100,000 in campaign donations for their father’s presidential run. Tigani claims that he did not realize it was illegal to solicit donations from his employees and reimburse them using company funds. Eventually, Tigani faced charges of tax evasion, to which he pleaded guilty. In contrast, Hunter Biden recently pleaded guilty to tax misdemeanors and a gun charge, receiving probation and the possibility of expungement for his felony gun charge. Tigani notes that he paid his taxes but was accused of not paying enough, while Hunter did not even file a tax return and managed to avoid jail time. Tigani cooperated with the FBI during his case by wearing a wire to gather evidence, but he was never asked to record conversations with the Biden family. He suspects that the FBI was not interested in investigating the Bidens and that someone may have tipped off the campaign about his cooperation. Tigani’s interaction with Joe Biden post-release was cordial but lacked substance. Throughout his political career, Joe Biden has been accused of engaging in a system of cronyism and trading favors for political influence, benefiting himself and his friends.
