Deadly Attack: Russian Cruise Missiles Strike Odesa, Ukraine, Claiming Lives of Minimum 6 in the Area

Russian forces have launched a heinous attack on the Ukrainian city of Odesa with cruise missiles, resulting in the destruction of homes and the loss of innocent lives. In addition, the eastern Donetsk region has also experienced devastating shelling, causing further casualties and injuries. This intensification of Russian aerial strikes coincides with Ukraine’s troops making limited gains in their early counteroffensive.

In the east, the cities of Kramatorsk and Konstantinovka have suffered the loss of seven homes and severe damage to several others, leading to the tragic deaths of three individuals. Meanwhile, in Odesa, a food warehouse was targeted, claiming the lives of three employees and injuring seven others. Numerous homes, warehouses, shops, and cafes have been affected by this strike.

Search and rescue teams are tirelessly searching for survivors amidst the rubble. It is reported that the attack on Odesa was carried out using four Kalibr cruise missiles, three of which were intercepted by air defenses.

Ukraine’s General Staff spokesperson, Andriy Kovalov, has stated that Russian forces have escalated their missile and aerial strikes, using various weapons such as Kh-22 cruise missiles, sea-launched Kalibr cruise missiles, and Iranian-made Shahed drones. Fortunately, nine missiles were successfully intercepted.

Despite these devastating attacks, Ukrainian forces have made significant progress on multiple fronts of the front line, covering a distance of approximately 1,000 kilometers. The fighting is still ongoing in and around settlements in the eastern Donetsk region, where Russia currently occupies and controls almost one-fifth of Ukrainian territory.

The Ministry of Defense in Britain has highlighted the vulnerability of southern Ukraine to Russian air operations compared to other areas of the front line. This further emphasizes the seriousness of the situation and the need for international attention and support.

In a separate incident, Kryvyi Rih, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s hometown, was targeted by a Russian strike, resulting in the tragic loss of 12 lives.
