Hotel Chocolat has urgently recalled its £15 Choose Your Poison product as a result of the possible presence of glass
The product, which consists of 36 filled chocolates in a glass flask with a cork stopper, is sold in Hotel Chocolat’s own stores and online.
The affected batches, sold in September with a best before date of January 2024, are stocked by John Lewis as well.
In their recall notice, Hotel Chocolat stated that the items ‘may contain a foreign body within the container which could cause harm if inadvertently consumed’.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA), which issued a warning to consumers, declared the product unsafe to eat due to the ‘possible presence of glass’ and advised returning it for a full refund.
The recall follows Costa’s urgent recall of several sandwich and wrap types earlier this month, which were suspected to contain small stones.
The affected Costa products include the Chicken & Bacon Caesar Wrap, Southern Fried Chicken Wrap, Chicken Salad Sandwich, and BLT Sandwich.
