  • A fan criticized by Miranda Lambert for taking a group photo at her recent concert has responded to the singer’s remarks.
  • Lambert paused her Las Vegas show to scold several women who were taking selfies.
  • “She seemed determined to portray us as young, immature, and vain,” said Adela Calin.

One of the fans whom Miranda Lambert criticized for taking a group photo during a recent show has accused the singer of trying to portray her as “young, immature, and vain.”

Lambert interrupted her performance in Las Vegas to scold several women who were taking selfies. She said, “I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry. These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. Sorry, I don’t like it at all.”

In an interview with NBC News, Adela Calin, one of the women Lambert called out, expressed her disappointment with the country star’s behavior. She said, “It felt like I was back in school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place. I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature, and vain. But we were just grown women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a picture.”

Calin, who is 43 years old, explained that the group attempted to take photos before the show began, but the lighting wasn’t ideal. Towards the end of the show, she asked a woman sitting behind them to quickly take a snapshot of her and her friends. “It was 30 seconds at most. We took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down,” Calin said.

Representatives for Lambert have not yet responded to Insider’s request for comment.

The moment Lambert called out Calin and her friends during the concert became viral on TikTok, receiving over 1.5 million views and 100,000 likes.

While there were cheers from the audience in support of Lambert in the video, many TikTok users criticized her for her reaction. One commenter wrote, “But maybe they were taking the selfies or videos to remember the occasion. I think she was out of line.” Another person mentioned, “Imagine it was their favorite song and they were taking a video and were excited.” Others shared similar experiences at Lambert’s previous concerts, noting that she didn’t interact with the audience and appeared to be in a bad mood.
