Russia and Ukraine provided conflicting reports over the weekend regarding the situation along the frontline in the Zaporizhzhia region. Moscow claims to have halted Kyiv’s counter-offensive, while Ukraine’s army insists it continues to make progress.
Since June, Ukraine has recaptured a few small villages in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region. However, the overall frontline in the country’s east and south has seen minimal changes over the past year.
Yevgeny Balitsky, the top Moscow-appointed official in the Zaporizhzhia region, stated that the enemy has been stopped and their alleged hyped counter-offensive has been completely halted.
