The virus does not pose a food safety concern, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has surveillance programs in place to monitor and prevent the spread of avian influenza. The CFIA also restricts imports of poultry products from U.S. states affected by bird flu outbreaks. Despite overall inflationary pressures, Canadians can expect stable prices for turkeys this Thanksgiving, with less inflationary pressure compared to last year. Prices vary across the country, but retailers are working towards providing competitively priced products.
