Christina Hall Discusses Her HGTV Shows and Growing Popularity

Insider recently spoke with Christina Hall, the HGTV star, about her upcoming docuseries and her personal kitchen renovation with her husband, Josh Hall. Despite her high-profile life, Christina revealed that she rarely considers the public nature of her life.

Over the past year, Christina has experienced many significant events. She celebrated her marriage to Josh Hall in Hawaii in September 2022, settled a custody dispute over her youngest son in November, and ended her tenure on “Flip or Flop” in December. Alongside these milestones, she also continued raising her three children and filming episodes for her HGTV docuseries, “Christina on the Coast” and “Christina in the Country,” which required her to travel back and forth between Southern California and Franklin, Tennessee. Christina’s schedule has been incredibly busy, to say the least. However, she expressed to Insider that she has achieved the life she desires and is happier than ever.

Since the conclusion of “Flip or Flop,” Christina has been able to focus her attention on her two HGTV docuseries. “Christina on the Coast” is set to return to the network on Thursday, and both shows follow Christina as she assists homeowners in renovating their properties. This is a departure from her previous work on “Flip or Flop,” where she primarily focused on house flipping for potential buyers. According to Christina, renovating for homeowners presents a different challenge, as she must cater to their specific tastes rather than a mass market trend. Despite the difficulty, she embraces the opportunity to continuously evolve and adapt to current design styles. Christina emphasized that she still actively seeks inspiration by exploring real estate and visiting high-end flips in Newport Beach with her husband, Josh.

In addition to her on-camera role, Christina has taken on a larger off-camera role as a co-producer alongside her husband, Josh. The transition to a new production company in 2022 required her to adjust and overcome new challenges, but she believes the hard work will be worthwhile.

Amidst her busy schedule, Christina and Josh also embarked on renovating their own kitchen in their recently purchased $12 million mansion in Newport Beach, California. Despite her expertise in home design, Christina admitted that the project was challenging due to the need to balance the modern aesthetic with a cozy atmosphere that reflects the home’s architecture. However, working together as a couple was a smooth process, as their styles aligned. Christina attributes this compatibility to her experience working with couples and her naturally less feminine style.

Christina’s ability to embrace change and maintain a busy lifestyle is evident in her love for being busy. She believes that staying busy makes her better and she genuinely enjoys her work. Additionally, Christina remains unfazed by her fame and popularity, as she primarily identifies as a mother, wife, and business owner. She authentically lives her life without constantly thinking about her celebrity status.

“Christina on the Coast” airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on HGTV and can be streamed on Max.
