Paul also discussed an experience he had after George Floyd’s death, where he felt a sense of unease when getting pulled over by the police in Los Angeles. This incident highlighted the lingering racial tensions in the country. Despite being a wealthy and successful athlete, Paul acknowledged that he still experiences fear and worry in certain situations.
When asked about his NBA career and retirement plans, Paul stated that he avoids thinking about when it will be over. He believes that dwelling on the end of his playing days can negatively impact his performance. Instead, he seeks advice from retired athletes and individuals in different professions. Paul mentioned his aspiration to become a governor or team owner in the future, highlighting his deep understanding of the league and the relationships he has built throughout his career.
