Chris Evans donates Queen’s Jaguar X-Type to Comic Relief, which is now up for auction again

The remarkable tale of Queen Elizabeth II’s Jaguar X-Type Estate continues as the car, previously bought by Chris Evans and gifted to Comic Relief, is set to return to auction this month. The ‘Emerald Fire’ green Jaguar, once driven by Her Majesty herself, was originally purchased at a Historics auction by Evans for £43,000 before being donated to Comic Relief for their Red Nose Day appeal. After raising nearly £300,000 for the charity, the car will now be sold with no reserve on July 22nd. The vehicle has accumulated just under 73,000 miles, many of which were driven by Queen Elizabeth II. The funds raised from the sale will once again be donated to worthy causes by the winner of the car from the Red Nose Day auction. The 2009 Jaguar X-Type Estate features a stunning green paint job and boasts traditional wood-effect trim on the interior. Powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine, the car offers a smooth, powerful driving experience. The boot is equipped with a protective liner, perfect for transportation of dogs. Chris Evans expressed his gratitude for being able to support Comic Relief through the donation of this historic car, and he hopes that the new owner will be an enthusiastic collector. The winner of the car, Jane Lewis, decided to return it to the sale and donate the proceeds to charity. The Jaguar X-Type Estate will be sold at the Historics summer sale near Windsor Castle, providing a unique opportunity to own a piece of history and support a worthy cause. Samir Patel, CEO of Comic Relief, expressed his appreciation for the support and generosity of everyone involved. The car is in impeccable condition, both inside and out, with limited wear and tear. It comes with extensive documentation, including its former registration as ‘PYN IF’ during its service to the Queen. The car recently passed its MOT with no issues.
