CHC, a Helicopter Operator, Disputes Government’s €670m Air-Sea Rescue Contract

The Irish branch of helicopter services group CHC, based in Texas, has taken legal action against the Irish government’s decision to award a contract for a €670m search and rescue service to US group Bristow. CHC Ireland claims that there were several issues with the tendering competition. The Irish government awarded the previous search and rescue contract to CHC in 2012, but has now decided to award the new contract to Bristow. This new contract will include fixed-wing services, a first for search and rescue contracts in Ireland. CHC is now challenging the government’s decision to award the contract to Bristow.
