Captivating Video Footage: Police Capture Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis in Arrest for Tupac Shakur’s Tragic Murder

Witness the moment of Duane “Keffe D” Davis’ arrest for the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur in 1996, captured on camera by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department. This exclusive video footage, obtained by CBS affiliate KLAS-TV, showcases the arresting officer approaching Davis near his Henderson, Las Vegas, residence on the morning of September 29.

The officer calls out, “Hey, Keffe, Metro Police, come over here,” as Davis obediently approaches. The scene unfolds with Davis being handcuffed, surrounded by multiple officers.

While being transported to the police department, Davis engages in casual conversation with the officers. He inquires about the absence of media coverage during his arrest, asking, “So why y’all didn’t bring the media?”

In another clip, Davis confidently states, “I ain’t worried about it. I ain’t did [expletive],” as reported by KLAS-TV.

Davis has been indicted on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon with a gang enhancement for the September 1996 shooting that claimed the life of hip-hop icon Shakur. Prosecutors clarify that this charge can apply to individuals who assist or encourage the act rather than just the accused triggerman, according to KLAS-TV. Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo previously conveyed that Davis acted as the “on-ground, on-site commander” who gave the order for Shakur’s death, as previously reported by CBS News.

Davis has positioned himself as a witness to the murder, detailing in his 2019 memoir that he was present in the car from which Shakur was shot. He implicates his nephew Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson as one of the individuals in the back seat where the shots were fired. Notably, Anderson died two years after the shooting.

Law enforcement authorities have been aware of Davis and his association with the case. In July, his wife’s residence was raided by police, with the search warrant specifying items related to the murder of Tupac Shakur.

Davis appeared in court on October 4 for his initial hearing. Due to his lawyer’s absence, he requested a two-week continuance and is scheduled to appear next in court on October 19. Until then, he will remain in custody without the option for bail.
