Bruce Springsteen has decided to postpone his highly anticipated concerts in Philadelphia this week alongside the renowned E Street Band due to an undisclosed illness that has affected his health.

Aug. 16 (UPI) — Due to unforeseen circumstances, Bruce Springsteen has made the difficult decision to reschedule two of his Philadelphia concerts with the iconic E Street Band scheduled for this week, mainly because of a mysterious illness that has affected the legendary musician’s well-being.

The official statement from Bruce Springsteen’s team was released on Wednesday and it was explained, “Due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill, his concerts with The E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 have been postponed”.

“We understand that this development is disappointing to fans, but we assure you that we are actively working on rescheduling the dates and urge ticket holders to kindly hold on to their tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows,” affirms the statement from Bruce Springsteen’s team.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Springsteen’s concert tour has been impacted by unforeseen circumstances. Several shows on his 2023 tour have previously been canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, such as performances scheduled in Ohio and the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, adding to the series of challenges faced by the renowned musician.

In addition to COVID-19-related setbacks, Bruce Springsteen and his wife, Patti Scialfa, were also unable to attend the inaugural American Music Honors in April due to COVID-19, as confirmed by the head of the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music.

The U.S. leg of Springsteen’s tour was originally scheduled to conclude in April, but due to popular demand and the overwhelming support from his fans, 18 new North American cities and dates were added. The latest shows have recently commenced after Springsteen spent May, June, and July enchanting audiences in Europe and the United Kingdom with his electrifying performances.

Following his recent successful show at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, Bruce Springsteen was eagerly looking forward to his upcoming concerts at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. However, due to the prevailing circumstances, those shows are now postponed. The next stop on his tour, after the canceled Philadelphia shows, is Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., scheduled for next week. Springsteen will conclude the month of August by performing in his home state of New Jersey. The tour will conclude on December 8 in San Francisco, which promises to be an unforgettable event.
