Breaking News: Taylor Swift Teams Up with Google for Exclusive Song Premiere, But Faces Unexpected ‘Glitch’!

Taylor Swift fans were faced with technical difficulties on Tuesday while embarking on a virtual Easter egg hunt to uncover the track titles of her upcoming album “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”.

Last month, Swift announced the re-recording of her album “1989” and revealed that the new version would include previously unreleased songs. In her previous re-recordings, she also included vault tracks as an extra treat for her fans.

Similar to her previous releases, Swift decided to unveil the vault tracks for “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” through a series of puzzles. Google announced that its search function would generate a total of 89 puzzles for fans to solve and discover the new song titles.

According to Google, solving these puzzles would collectively help “Swifties” worldwide unlock the vault and reveal the coveted track titles. However, some fans noticed a little blue vault appearing in search results over the weekend, raising anticipation for the big reveal.

The puzzle began with the scrambled version of Swift’s album name and gradually revealed additional puzzles as participants entered answers into the search bar. However, many fans, including some NBC News reporters, encountered difficulties with the game, experiencing glitches and no progress.

Fans expressed frustration at their inability to participate in the puzzle or the excessive number of completions required, especially when the game was not functioning correctly. Some took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to voice their concerns.

One user commented, “I feel like Taylor constantly forgets how big she is,” while another jokingly said, “we’re definitely not getting 33m before the album comes out with this stupid vault not working.”

Google acknowledged the errors in a post on X and assured fans that they were working on resolving the issues.

Despite the technical difficulties, Swift kept the excitement alive by posting a video on her Instagram of a blue vault opening. She captioned the video with, “You can tell me when the *search* is over… if the high was worth the pain.”

Following the Instagram post, searches for “Taylor Swift” spiked and remained high for several hours, according to Google Trends data. Swift’s highest search interest occurred at 3 p.m., two hours after her post, before slightly declining.

“1989 (Taylor’s Version)” is set to release on October 27, precisely nine years after the original album’s release.
