Book on COVID-19 Response by Former Saskatchewan NDP Leader Set to Launch

Saskatchewan’s former NDP leader has authored a book that explores the province’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A press release for Ryan Meili’s book, titled A Healthy Future: Lessons from the Frontlines of a Crisis, reveals its focus on the exacerbation of issues in healthcare, elder care, education, and social support as a result of the pandemic.

The book, published by UBC Press, also sheds light on the shortcomings of Saskatchewan and Canada in their COVID-19 response.

In addition, it provides insights on how governments and individuals can improve their response to future health and social crises.

According to the publisher, the book offers a unique perspective as Meili continued to work as a family doctor while serving as the Opposition leader.

The book is set to be released in late September.
