In the latest episode of Fox News’ “Big Weekend Show,” host Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, popularly known as Kennedy, made a xenophobic comment, implying that Tropical Storm Hilary was just another immigrant.
“The wrath of Tropical Storm Hilary. Forty-two million desperate souls in the path of the storm, which made landfall in Mexico several hours ago. But they let it right into the country because it’s Biden’s America,” she said.
While some may argue that Kennedy was only making an awful immigration joke, the website Meidas Touch, known for its anti-Trump stance, suggests that certain MAGA Republican weather modification conspiracy theorists may have interpreted Fox News’ reporting differently. They added, “Let’s just say the Jewish Space Laser crowd eats this stuff up.”
Unsurprisingly, Kennedy’s comments sparked a flood of reactions from users on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Interestingly, Kennedy’s remarks are not the only ill-informed weather-related statements made by Republicans. During his presidency, Donald Trump allegedly proposed using nuclear bombs on multiple occasions to prevent hurricanes from hitting the United States.
