Biden Campaign Unveils Ad Criticizing GOP Backing of National Abortion Ban

President Biden’s reelection campaign has unveiled a new ad designed to criticize Republican presidential candidates for their endorsement of a national abortion ban, specifically targeting women in key battleground states. The one-minute ad, titled “These Guys,” will be digitally aired for two weeks on YouTube and Connected TV. It marks the first post-debate advertisement of the campaign and is part of a $25 million, 16-week-long advertising initiative. The ad will be shown in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

The ad emphasizes that decisions regarding reproductive healthcare are deeply personal and should be made between a woman and her doctor, without the interference of politicians. It features a clip of former President Trump proudly taking credit for the demise of Roe v. Wade, highlights Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ signing of a six-week abortion ban in his state, and includes Senator Tim Scott’s claim that he would sign the most conservative pro-life legislation if elected president.

Furthermore, the ad quotes Trump suggesting that there should be consequences for women who undergo abortion procedures. It highlights that President Biden and Vice President Harris are committed to reinstating Roe v. Wade and would oppose any attempts to implement a nationwide abortion ban.

The ad concludes by stating, “As long as they are in office, decisions about your body will be made by you, not by them,” featuring President Trump. Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez remarked, “On Wednesday, MAGA Republicans came to the debate stage and boasted about their support to strip women of the right to make their own health care decisions. President Biden and Vice President Harris stand with the overwhelming majority of Americans against these bans, and for codifying Roe into law.”

Chavez Rodriguez also confirmed that the campaign plans to release more ads highlighting President Biden’s support for women and aims to hold Republicans accountable for their positions throughout the 2024 election cycle.
