Bayan and Eesha, stars of the show Hunted, disclose the crucial unspoken rule they adhere to in order to successfully evade capture: ‘A strategic game plan is a must’

In an exclusive interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle, Hunted stars Bayan and Eesha divulged the unspoken rule that all contestants on the hit show must adhere to in order to elude capture: they must have a game plan. As part of the real-life adventure series, teams of surveillance experts track down and “hunt” 20 contestants trying to evade capture over a span of 21 days. The ultimate victor walks away with a hefty cash prize of $100,000.

Eesha explained that while real fugitives may be able to disappear into the wilderness for months or even years, the contrived nature of the show necessitates certain rules, such as moving locations every 48 hours. As the clock winds down, contestants must strategize their next move and establish communication channels to secure assistance. “We can’t just sit in the bush for 21 days,” Eesha admitted.

During Tuesday’s episode, Bayan and Eesha ultimately met their demise when they were cornered in their apartment. However, one of the stars from Hunted Australia, British intelligence expert Ben Owen, has claimed that the local version of the show is superior to its international counterparts. Owen praised the Australian production, citing the increased number of fugitives and the added challenge of capturing them within a shorter timeframe and vast geographical area.

In addition to Owen’s endorsement, the first season of Hunted Australia earned rave reviews and captured an average of 1.09 million viewers nationwide across its nine episodes. It became Channel 10’s most successful new launch since the debut of The Masked Singer in 2019. The show also performed well on streaming platform 10Play, attracting its largest catch-up audience since The Bachelor in 2020.

Although the current season of Hunted Australia hasn’t achieved the same level of success as its predecessor, with the latest episode facing tough competition from the FIFA World Cup and garnering only 362,000 viewers in the metro ratings, it still remains a popular show. Viewers can continue to tune in on Sundays at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 10 or catch up on 10 Play. Owen’s endorsement, coupled with the show’s impressive viewership and critical acclaim, solidifies Hunted Australia’s status as a top-tier reality TV franchise.
