Authorities have reported that a man, who was expelled from a bar in Mexico for inappropriate behavior towards women, later returned and set fire to the establishment, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals. The suspect has since been apprehended.
The arson attack occurred overnight from Friday to Saturday in the town of San Luis Rio Colorado, located in the northern state of Sonora, which shares a border with the United States.
The fire claimed the lives of seven men and four women, while also injuring six others, according to the state prosecutor’s office in Sonora.
The perpetrator had been ejected from the bar “due to disrespectful treatment of women” and subsequently returned to throw a flaming object, likely a Molotov cocktail, into the establishment, as stated by the prosecutor’s office.
Santos González Yescas, the mayor of San Luis Rio Colorado, which is located near the southern border of Yuma, Arizona, tweeted on Saturday afternoon confirming the arrest of a suspect in relation to the fatal attack at the Beer House bar. However, he did not disclose the identity of the individual.
