Exactly one year ago today, on August 30, 2022, a West Hollywood chiropractor was accused by sheriff’s investigators of sexually assaulting a woman in his office. In response to these allegations, Dr. David Mottahedeh, through his attorney Lou Shapiro, vehemently denied them, stating that they hold no merit.
Last week, the 58-year-old Mottahedeh was arrested by Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials on charges related to an alleged sexual assault on July 14 at his office on Sunset Boulevard. He was released on bail and has a tentative court date set for September 15.
The LASD has stated that due to the nature of the allegation and Mottahedeh’s access to patients, there may be additional unidentified victims. However, Shapiro insists that Mottahedeh is a family man and is determined to clear his name.
“He loves his family and is happily married with 2-year-old twins, a boy and a girl,” said Shapiro. “He upholds the highest professional and ethical standards. He is considered innocent until proven guilty and is looking forward to restoring his name and reputation through the legal process.”
