Three individuals have been apprehended in connection with an armed robbery that took place in downtown Los Angeles. One of the suspects was even shocked by a stun gun wielded by a private security guard, as reported by the police on Wednesday.
Upon receiving a report of an ongoing armed robbery around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department promptly dispatched officers to the 300 block of South Wall Street, near Third Street.
According to the authorities, the suspects parked their vehicle close to a business establishment before brandishing handguns and a shotgun as they made their way inside. Their target was both the register and the back room of the business. Fortunately, the business owner, who was monitoring the situation via closed-circuit television, quickly alerted 911.
Not only did the culprits steal cash and various items, but they also robbed the customers present inside the store, according to the police.
Upon the arrival of the officers, the suspects were seen fleeing the business. A perimeter was established, leading to the successful capture of the suspects by the police.
The police were able to recover three handguns and the stolen items belonging to the victims.
Identified as 41-year-old Louis Peralta, 25-year-old Jacob Alarcon, and 44-year-old Damian Morales, the suspects have all been charged with robbery.
Morales sustained injuries when he was shot by a private security guard with a stun gun. After receiving treatment at a hospital, Morales was released and subsequently booked by the police.
Both Morales and Peralta have bail set at $1.2 million, while Alarcon’s bail stands at $150,000.
An initial investigation has revealed that Peralta and Alarcon were also involved in another armed robbery that occurred on July 12.
