Despite financial pressures on families, anglers continue to enjoy their favorite pastime in the lakes, rivers, and coastlines of Britain.

Angling Direct, the fishing tackle and equipment seller, recently reported strong sales in the UK, reaching £40.9 million in the six months leading up to July.

This represents a growth of over 10% compared to the same period last year, demonstrating the resilience of anglers. Online sales increased by 8.3% to £16.5m, while revenues from their physical stores, including recently opened locations in Cardiff and Goole, rose by 11.3% to £24.4m.

Angling Direct, a Norwich-based company listed on AIM with a market value of roughly £30m, has also successfully expanded its presence in Europe. Online sales in the region climbed nearly 40% to £2.4m.

The company is on track to achieve full-year revenues of £83m and profits of £2.7m, aligning with the expectations of the City. However, its shares experienced a small decline of 1.3%, or 0.5p, to 38p.
