At the age of 46, McElhenney candidly shared on Twitter, “I was recently diagnosed with a host of neurodevelopmental disorders and learning disabilities!” The talented performer, known for his role in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” hopes that by speaking out, he can help individuals realize they are not alone.
McElhenney plans to discuss his complete diagnosis and prognosis in an upcoming episode of “The Always Sunny Podcast,” which he co-hosts with his fellow cast members, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton.
Recognizing the importance of addressing the topic openly, McElhenney stated, “It’s not something I would normally talk about publicly, but I figured there are others who struggle with similar things and I wanted to remind you that you’re not alone. You’re not stupid. You’re not ‘bad.’ It might feel that way sometimes, but it’s not true.”
