  • Hilaria Baldwin, aged 39, revealed in an interview with Romper that she sometimes takes on a maternal role with her husband, Alec Baldwin.

  • Hilaria firmly stated that she is not defined by her age or the age difference in her relationship.

Hilaria Baldwin has addressed the accusations surrounding her 26-year age gap with her husband, Alec Baldwin. She firmly denied “daddy issues” and stated that sometimes she takes on a maternal role with him.

In 2011, when Hilaria was 27 and Alec was 52, they met and quickly became engaged and married within a year.

In a recent interview with Romper, Hilaria delves into their relationship and the misconceptions surrounding it.

She confidently affirmed, “Am I his mommy? Sometimes I’m his mommy. Sometimes. At the beginning of our relationship, everyone was like, ‘She must have daddy issues because she’s married to somebody older.’ But it’s actually the opposite.”

Hilaria and Alec are proud parents of seven children: Carmen, 9, Rafael, 8, Leonardo, 6, Romeo, 5, Eduardo, 2, María Lucía, 2, and Ilaria, who is 9 months old.

When asked about their future family plans, Hilaria revealed that they don’t have any intentions of having more children.

“This is probably, most definitely, almost completely my last baby,” she expressed. “I’m always afraid to say it. I was putting away my maternity clothes recently and was like, ‘I’m afraid to give them away because then I’ll find out I’m pregnant.'”

Hilaria explained that she doesn’t use birth control and Alec isn’t interested in undergoing a vasectomy.

“I feel awful when I’m on birth control; it makes me depressed,” she shared. “Every single time I have a baby, my OB writes down the vasectomy doctor on a Post-it, and I bring it home to Alec.”

Despite this, Alec hasn’t pursued the procedure yet.

Hilaria also opened up about the challenges of parenting seven children, mentioning their limited family vacations due to the difficulty of traveling with a large family.

“With two, I felt like I could still have a level of control; I was trying to micromanage everything. And once I got to three, I just released and was like, ‘OK, it’s going to be chaos. We are outnumbered. You’ve got to let it go,'” she explained. “I’m probably about 90% gentle parenting. Though every once in a while, you have to say: ‘Stop it. Full stop. Right now.'”
