Alberta Minister of Mental Health and Addiction Dan Williams acknowledges that addiction has devastating effects on families and communities, particularly in First Nations communities. The province is actively partnering with First Nations to address the issue and promote reconciliation.

Williams highlights the government’s commitment to build and fully fund a recovery community in partnership with Enoch Cree Nation. The province is also constructing and funding three more recovery communities in collaboration with Tsuut’ina Nation, Siksika Nation, and Kainai Nation.
