Actor Kevin Costner denies having an affair while estranged wife accuses him of being ‘evasive’ regarding finances – Nationwide

The divorce proceedings between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner have escalated.

In recently obtained court documents from People Magazine, Baumgartner, aged 49, has requested Costner, aged 68, to provide all financial records pertaining to any extramarital affairs.

In documents filed on Monday in the Santa Barbara County Superior Court, Baumgartner specifically asked for information regarding “expenses paid by you, or any person at your request or on your behalf, relating to any extramarital romantic relationships.”

In response, Costner’s legal team denied the request and refuted any claims of an affair, stating that Costner “engaged in none” and therefore has no relevant documents to provide.

The legal team further argued that Baumgarter’s request was intended for harassment purposes and was overly broad, burdensome, and oppressive.

Costner also made it clear that he was uncertain whether Baumgartner had an affair of her own.

Neither Costner nor Baumgartner have publicly commented on the issue.

In addition to the affair allegations, Baumgartner has accused Costner of being evasive about his finances.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Baumgartner argued that Costner’s financial reporting in the divorce proceedings has been deficient.

She has requested Costner to provide details about his anticipated income and claimed that he has failed to produce numerous bank account and credit card statements that are directly relevant to the divorce.

Costner has described the request for financial documents as burdensome, oppressive, and harassing.

He explained that he is unable to provide certain statements due to their relation to his upcoming film “Horizon,” as they are considered highly confidential.

Costner and Baumgartner were married for 18 years before Baumgartner filed for divorce on May 1, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple shares three children together: Cayden, 15; Hayes, 14; and Grace, 12.

The affair allegations and financial documentation requests are the latest developments in their ongoing divorce proceedings.

In July, Costner accused Baumgartner of charging $100,000 to his credit card for legal expenses during May and June.

He argued that she did so without providing advance warning.

In June, Costner claimed that Baumgartner violated their prenuptial agreement by refusing to vacate their southern California house.

The agreement, which was signed in 2004, stipulates that Baumgartner has 30 days to leave the property after filing for divorce.

In July, Baumgartner finally moved out of the property after initially refusing to do so.

However, she only agreed to leave once she and Costner reached a child support agreement.

Baumgartner requested $248,000 per month in child support, while Costner initially offered $51,900.

A judge ordered Costner to pay $129,755 per month until further resolution in court.

Baumgartner also demanded $350,000 in lawyer’s fees and $150,000 in forensic accounting costs from her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Costner has already paid Baumgartner $1.4 million as stipulated in their prenuptial agreement.

Baumgartner has claimed that she felt pressured to sign the agreement.

Costner, who is no longer involved in the TV series “Yellowstone,” is currently in post-production for his latest film, “Horizon: An American Saga,” in which he starred, produced, and directed.
