Drake made a stunning entrance at Madison Square Garden.
Descending the stairs from the concourse to the stage, the rapper was accompanied by Yankees powerhouses Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
As they made their way, the trio shared high fives with enthusiastic fans.
Judge sported a shirt featuring former Knicks stars, prominently featuring Patrick Ewing, plus images of Walt “Clyde” Frazier, John Starks, and Carmelo Anthony.
This Sunday night marked the first of Drake’s three shows at Madison Square Garden this week, with the other two scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Earlier on Friday night, he had also performed at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Yankees fans eagerly anticipate Judge’s return to the lineup.
Judge has been sidelined since early June when he tore a ligament in his right big toe after making a spectacular catch against the wall.
A promising step towards his return occurred on Sunday morning when Judge faced off against Jonathan Loaisiga in a live batting practice session. Both players are currently rehabbing from injuries.
“Having to face Jonny Lo in your first live session, it’s not going to get any harder than that,” commented Yankees manager Aaron Boone to reporters on Sunday.
“Aaron did well in his first live reps,” added Boone, expressing his satisfaction with Judge’s performance.
The Yankees currently hold a 53-47 record, but find themselves tied for last place in the highly competitive AL East alongside the Red Sox. They trail the Toronto Blue Jays by two games for the third and final Wild Card spot.
