7 Years Later, She Rescues His Daughter After Saving Him

Molly Jones finally met the woman who saved her father’s life and was about to save hers, just a week before receiving a life-saving kidney. In 2016, paramedic Kristi Hadfield successfully restarted John Cunningham’s heart after it stopped while she was accompanying him to the hospital. She later found him and his daughter on Facebook and connected with them. When Jones announced her kidney failure, Hadfield immediately volunteered as a donor.

Jones, who had been living with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease for 41 years, desperately sought a kidney donation in March 2022. Within hours of her plea, Hadfield reached out to her, expressing her willingness to donate. She believed that Jones deserved to see her daughter grow and hold her grandkids. Despite facing months of tests, Hadfield was finally cleared for surgery. The transplant took place a week after Jones and Hadfield met for the first time in December. Thanks to Hadfield’s donation, Jones regained kidney function and is grateful for the opportunity to witness important milestones in her life. Hadfield humbly views her actions as something anyone should do in such a situation.
