Aug. 17 (UPI) — A 6-year-old boy from Pennsylvania has won the title of the 2023 Kids Mullet Champion with his unique hairstyle.

Rory Ehrlich, known as the “Cheddar Wiz,” was crowned the winner by Mullet Champ, the organization behind the USA Mullet Championships. Ehrlich stood out among 300 other kids aged 3-8 who participated in this year’s Kids Mullet Championships.

His victory in the contest has turned him into a local celebrity, with opportunities such as meeting John Kruk at a Phillies game. According to Airen Ehrlich, Rory’s mother, he now considers John Kruk his best friend.

As the champion, Rory received a cash prize of $5,000. He plans to use the money to buy his sister an alpaca, enjoy wing night again, and donate some to the Wounded Warriors charity.

The second-place award went to 3-year-old Ezekiel Arita from Hawaii, with his hairstyle named “Mr. Aloha Mullet.” The third-place finisher was 5-year-old Kamden Cunningham from Pennsylvania, with his mullet called “The Kammander.”

For those interested, Mullet Champ is currently accepting registrations for the men’s and over-55 mullet contests until August 31.
