Popular YouTuber IShowSpeed unintentionally exposed himself to a large online audience during a live stream on Wednesday, August 16. The streamer recently returned with a video titled “hes ALIVE!” after being hospitalized last month due to a severe sinus infection.
Just a day after his comeback, Darren Watkins, known as IShowSpeed, played the video game Five Nights at Freddy’s in a live stream on YouTube. However, viewers received more than they expected when he accidentally revealed himself on camera.
The YouTuber, known for his exaggerated reaction videos, sat down quickly, appearing shocked. Speed then ended the stream shortly after.
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the unexpected incident, with some speculating that the streamer could face a ban from the platform for the second time. Prior to joining YouTube, Speed was a popular Twitch streamer but was banned from the platform after making suggestive comments towards a female content creator.
The incident occurred during Adin Ross’ popular e-dating broadcast, where Speed asked TikTok personality Ashaley “Ash Kash” a forward question. He said, “I have a psychological question. Okay? Imagine we’re the last two people on Earth, and we have to reproduce to ensure the survival of humanity. Would you choose to reproduce with me?”
Speed then took to Twitter two days later to share that he had been banned from the platform on the grounds of “sexual coercion or intimidation.”
Will IShowSpeed Get Banned?
In 2022, YouTube implemented important updates to its Nudity and Sexual Content Policy to strengthen the enforcement of Community Guidelines. As of now, the platform has not responded or made a statement regarding IShowSpeed’s video, and the YouTuber himself has not addressed the incident.
According to YouTube’s guidelines on Nudity and Sexual Content Policy, explicit content intended for sexual gratification is strictly prohibited. It remains to be seen whether the platform considers the incident as accidental and not intended for sexual gratification.
It is likely that YouTube will age-restrict the content. IShowSpeed is known for having a young fan base, and the platform will prioritize protecting minors from explicit content.
