Working from Home 2 Days a Week is Insufficient to Fulfill Your Job Duties

Martha Stewart doesn’t believe in remote work, not even part-time. According to an interview with Footwear News, she thinks that employees “can’t possibly get everything done working three days a week in the office and two days remotely.” In fact, she is on a “rampage” to get workers back in the office. Many bank CEOs are also following suit, asking employees to be back in the office five days a week, CNN reports. Meanwhile, Elon Musk takes it a step further, stating that it’s “morally wrong” to allow people to work from home. Stewart even compared the potential success of the US to that of France, citing France’s month-long August vacation as proof that it is not a thriving country. But as Jezebel’s Kady Ruth Ashcraft points out, France also has legal abortions and a strong social safety net. Critics of Stewart’s stance on remote work are taking to Twitter, with one tweet reading, “Martha Stewart, who did prison from home, wants you to know she doesn’t support you working from home.”
