Woman Livestreams SWAT Entry and Arrest for Murder; Decatur Man in Custody as Well

On Nov. 7, a woman was livestreamed being arrested by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team at a home in Decatur after being accused of murder in Lawrence County earlier that day.

Meanwhile, a Decatur man was arrested for leading police on a vehicle pursuit while firing his weapon out of the window, according to the Decatur Police Department.

The accused woman, Auburn Renee Moore, 36, of New Hope, was charged with murder, first-degree kidnapping, and first-degree robbery after the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) reported that a man and a woman entered a home and shot and killed Dustin Grimes as he tried to protect his wife, Karen Grimes.

Another suspect, Jordan Cesar Hernandez, 35, was arrested in connection with the home invasion and charged with several crimes, including attempted murder, according to Decatur police.

Further information on a third person involved in the crime was withheld by LCSO for investigative purposes.

According to LCSO, a kidnapped woman managed to free herself and call 911 after being taken to an ATM at which she was forced to withdraw money. With her help, the authorities identified Moore and Hernandez as suspects.

Moore’s impending arrest at a residence in Decatur was livestreamed on Facebook by Moore herself, during which she was pleading for divine assistance and claiming innocence. The SWAT team subsequently entered the residence and safely took Moore into custody.

Additional accusations and incidents regarding the suspects were reported, with Hernandez being tracked and apprehended after a vehicle pursuit and Moore having a previous criminal record.

Lawrence County Sheriff Max Sanders praised the kidnapped woman’s quick thinking in escaping, while both suspects remained in respective county jails without bond.
